about

BDISO is an experiment in sampling. In order to limit my pallette and explore the possibilities of the sampler, I used one bass drum as the sole sound source for this recording. I recorded as many acoustic sounds of this one bass drum as I could dream up, then chopped the sounds into samples for my sampler, no overdubs just pure hardware live sequencing with knob twirling. Results sound like German industrial drumlines. Although most tracks are very abstract, the nature of 12 and 16 step sequences yield grooves, dark steely beats.
